At 14 years of age, you’ve broken more records than anyone else your age. Share with us how your journey in the world of athletics began?

Tamari Davis:

My athletic journey actually began at the age of 7; wanting to follow in my big brother’s footsteps. I was motivated after receiving my very first medal at an AAU track meet.

Namita Nayyar:

You were considered the Fastest Girl on the Planet at the age of 14 years. How do you feel about it?

Tamari Davis:

It was very exciting and like a dream come true, doing so well at the young age of 14. It was a blessing to be able to excel on the track.

Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a day in your life, as an athlete and a woman full of aspirations.

Tamari Davis:

My day starts with Morning Prayer and afterward cooking my breakfast, which consists of eggs, wheat toast, fruit, occasional turkey bacon, and orange juice. Then I prepare for practice, gathering my Adidas gear and a gallon of water.

Practice and training usually last for about 2 hours. Some days I have weight training, chiropractic, and massage therapy. Then I have lunch which consists of a turkey sandwich on wheat bread with spinach, tomatoes, fruit, and water. Once I’m done with all of that, I start my virtual school work.

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?

Tamari Davis:

The first thing I do is deadlifts, medicine ball slams, and squat jumps. Also, rope runs and rope squat jumps, cycling for about 20 miles weekly, and practice circuits.
